Dear EENY members and friends,
We are proud to invite you to the Eusko Etxea of New York and celebrate with us the 7th edition of “San Tomas Eguna” festivity on Saturday December 10th (for more information about this festivity see link below).
On December 16th the event will begin at 6:00 pm. From 6:00 – 7:30 pm we will organize games for children. Come with your family and be part of the party!
At 7:30 pm Olentzero (Basque equivalent of Santa Claus see link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ Olentzero) will arrive at Eusko Etxea. Olentzero will offer presents for all children (parents should bring the presents). As in previous years, Olentzero will only offer one present per child of no more than $10 in purchase value. Each present should be wrapped and their recipient clearly identified.

Euskal Etxeko bazkide eta lagunak, agur!
Eusko Etxeak San Tomas egunaren 7. edizioa ospatuko du, abenduaren 16an. (bide batez, urteroko legez gure eguberrifesta ere bilakatuko da).
Arratsaldeko 6-etatik aurrera ekitaldi mordoa antolatuko dira Eckford Street-eko gure egoitzan:
6etatik 7:30etara, haurrentzako jolas eta jokoak izango ditugu. Etorri zure familiarekin eta hartu parte arratsaldeko festa honetan.
Arratsaldeko 7:30 Olentzero iritsiko da Euskal Etxera. Aurreko urteetan bezala Olentzerok gehienez $10-eko opari bana emango dio haurra bakoitzari (gurasoen eskuetan uzten dugu hau). Opariak garbi izendatuta eta paperez bilduta egon beharko dute.

Please come to Eusko Etxea of New York on April 16th and celebrate with us the 2017 Aberri Eguna, the Basque National Day celebrated on Easter Sunday. In addition you can also make reservations with paypal at the end of this message. Due to the limited number of seats available we urge you to make your reservations as soon as possible. The deadline for reservations is April 6th.
On April 16th the bar will open at 12:00 pm and as in previous years we will serve a large variety of pintxos/tapas until 1:00 pm. Dinner will be served at 1:30 pm.

Adult full-day (includes bar, pintxos and dinner) members: $70
Adult full-day non-members: $75
Adult half-day (includes bar and pintxos until 1:00 pm but not dinner) members/non members: $50

Aberri Eguna, Pazko Egunean ospatzen dugun euskal nazioaren eguna, apirilaren 16an Eusko Etxean gurekin ospatzera gonbidatzen zaituztegu. On Sunday April 2nd you are all invited to join us to run in a re-enactment of KORRIKA, the popular run across Basqueland, which takes place every two years in support of schools and academies teaching adults the Basque language. Following the run we will go to the Basque Center to eat pizza and watch a movie. Do not worry about your fitness level. This event is not meant to test your stamina, it is meant to be fun!

Igandean, Apirilak 2an, helduen euskalduntze eta alfabetatzearen alde egiten den KORRIKAren aurtengo lasterketa East River State Park-en berregin dezagun gonbidatzen zaituztegu. Lasterketaren ondoren Euskal Etxera joan eta Pizza eta pelikula ikusisko dugu elkarrekin. Ez zaitezte kezkatu sasoian zaudeten ala ez, ekintza honek ez du zuen iraupen-maila neurtzeko asmorik, zuek dibertitzeko asmoa baizik!

Euskaltzaleen Topaguneak LABURBIRA film laburren zirkuitua antolatu du aurten ere. 12. edizioa izango da aurtengoa. 80 minutu inguruko emanaldian, euskaraz egindako 8 film labur izango ditugu. Filmak hautatzerakoan, hainbat irizpide izan dituzte kontuan, hala nola sortzaile berriei eta ibilbide luzekoei lekua egitea, filmetako genero eta gai aniztasuna, euskaltzaleen mugimenduko lanak zabaltzea eta abar. Hauek dira aurtengo zirkuitua osatuko duten film eta zuzendariak:

Euskaltzaleen Topaguneak Basque Club has organized a short movies circuit called LABURBIRA, which it will be the 12th edition this year. It will be a collection of 8 Basque short movies, lasting around 80 minutes. A number of different criterias have been taken into account in order to make the selection of movies, mainly giving opportunities to new directors, diversity of genres, spreading the work of the Basque movements, etc. This is the list of short movies and directors chosen for this year:

Please come to the Eusko Etxea of New York and celebrate with us the “Donostia Eguna” festivity on Saturday January 28th (for more information about this festivity see the link below). Due to the limited number of seats available we urge you to make your reservations as soon as possible. The deadline for reservations is January 22nd.
On January 28th the bar will open at 7:30 PM and dinner will begin at 8:00 PM, we will serve pintxos followed by dinner, which will consist of fish soup, salad, gulas (baby eels), and cake for desert. After dinner we will play Danborrada. Dinner will be $35 per person (alcohol not included).
Make your own drum for the danborrada dinner!! You just need a can of coffee, a rope to use it as a belt and the attached picture “I danborrada NY” to cover the drum.

Urtarrilak 28an Euskal Etxea arratsaldeko ordubatean irekiko da. Bazkaltzeko arrai sopa, entsalada, gulak, eta tarta izango dugu. Ondoren danborrada joko dugu. Bazkaria $35 bakoitzeko izango da (alkohola kanpo).
Beharrezko material guztiak ditugun arren, ondo pasa zure familiarekin eta zeure danborra egin danborrada afarirako !
Besterik gabe kafe pote bat behar duzu, gerriko bat danborrean eransteko eta emailean erantzitako "I Danborrada NY" danborra estaltzeko.
Irrikitan gaude zuekin Donostia Eguna ospatu ahal izateko!!!
